Melissa DelPrete creates abstract, often ethereal paintings and drawings for those seeking to experience a deeper relationship with source energy.

Through intuitive, calligraphic mark-making and atmospheric color fields, DelPrete constructs layered compositions that merge formal painting techniques with contemporary visual language. Each work evolves through a balance of intention and intuition, where gesture, movement, and repetition cultivate a sense of alignment with the unseen forces that connect all living things.

In her recent body of work, Box Meditations, DelPrete employs the grid as both a conceptual and practical framework. Here, the grid operates as a metaphor for the underlying structure of the universe while also reflecting the compartmentalized rhythms of her own life, balancing studio practice, motherhood, and her work supporting other artists through curatorial initiatives.

DelPrete holds a BFA from the Massachusetts College of Art and Design and an MS in Art Education from LIU Post. She lives and works in Lake Worth Beach, Florida, where she is the founding director of mtn space, a contemporary art gallery dedicated to artist-centered exhibitions, dialogue, and community programming.
